Invitation from the Chairman
Dear colleaguesIt is my pleasure to invite you to attend the 13th Australasian Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry (ARSPC) Conference, to be held in Canberra, Australia during 20 - 24 November 2006. The 2006 ARSPC Conference is expected to be the largest ever staged in Australia and will bring together data providers, modellers, researchers, policy makers and end users. There is never a dull moment in remote sensing with a number of new satellites launched each year and improved access to data. Latest tools, technologies and applications developed through global and local initiatives will be presented at this conference. This conference will feature pre-eminent practitioners and speakers from Australia and overseas presenting recent developments and future trends in remote sensing. The organising committee for this conference consists of leading scientists, policy makers, academics and commercial practitioners. We cordially invite you to attend sessions covering a range of topics such as, airborne and spaceborne sensor technologies, data analysis, applications and global initiatives. Governments at all levels in Australia and elsewhere, continue to be the biggest users of remote sensing data and increasingly rely on this technology to deliver improved services and policy decisions. Our proposed theme, 'Earth Observation - From Science to Solutions' reflects this view. I am looking forward to a rewarding professional experience at this conference with plenty of opportunities for learning and networking. I encourage you to contact any member of the organising committee or myself with your ideas, suggestions and contributions to make this conference a grand success. Thank you.
